Background:

Where there is multiple approvers in a workflow request, there is only the ability to return the workflow to the original initiator of the request. There is no ability to be able to return the workflow to the previous approver. When completing approvals we have cases where the initiator is from a contractor company, we need our internal approvers to add more information but we are unable to return one step back to the first approver, instead the workflow returns back to the contractor company who has to then resubmit unaware that it is an internal change that is required and no action on their behalf.

Recommendation:

Add an option at the approval levels to be able to return the workflow to the previous level of approval not just the original initiator.
